Where you'll be working:

New England North West Mental Health Service is seeking dedicated and passionate Mental Health Clinicians to join our Inverell Community Mental Health team. Our multidisciplinary team—comprising Psychiatrists, Resident Medical Officers, Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals—delivers acute mental health care across the New England region. As part of a forward-thinking and innovative service, you will play a key role in providing high-quality mental health assessment and treatment to the community. Our strong clinical governance framework ensures consistent, excellent care for every patient, every time. We are a team driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, clinical excellence, and innovation in the delivery of ambulatory mental health services, backed by strong multidisciplinary leadership.

What you'll be doing:

As a Level 3 Social Worker, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred assessment, treatment, and case coordination to adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute a vital psychosocial perspective to care planning and delivery.

Your role will focus on supporting individuals in their recovery journey, helping them achieve their goals and improve overall wellbeing. You will also provide specialist input on complex issues such as family and domestic violence, child protection, and psychosocial stressors. Promoting family and cultural inclusion will be central to your approach, ensuring holistic, inclusive, and responsive mental health care.

About you:

We are seeking a compassionate and professional Social Worker who brings a culturally sensitive approach to their practice. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and engaging meaningfully with consumers, families, and carers.

You will have a solid understanding of the impacts of mental health on individuals and communities, and be confident working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to navigate competing demands, and a flexible, proactive mindset in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will be well supported by the Community Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and Head of Discipline. As part of the broader Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Service, you'll also have access to ongoing education, supervision, and support from district-level clinical leaders and discipline-specific advisors.

Requirements:
