Aranda Primary School opened in 1969 and is situated within the Belconnen network, with an enrolment of approximately 600 students. The school promotes a community of learners, working together to deliver an education that challenges all students to reach their full potential. Every student is provided with a quality education, where they learn both academic and social skills to become well rounded individuals prepared for life outside of school. Through a wide variety of engaging learning experiences, young people are taught to be critical thinkers, who are self-confident and able to contribute to society. The Australian Curriculum is delivered by a dedicated teaching team who are committed to an evidence-based approach to student growth. Staff focus on the needs of each student and work together to deliver consistent, evidence-informed teaching practices and use data thoughtfully to support every student's progress.

Aranda Primary School's clear purpose is to build a thriving, connected community where every student feels safe, known, and supported in all areas of their development, including academic rigour, social-emotional growth, and student wellbeing. This is further emphasised by the school's motto "Marima Ergurrai". In the Arunta language, this translates to "Grasp the things that are good". Marima Ergurrai embodies a partnership of school and excellence in all endeavours, within a supportive and caring association of students, staff, parents and community.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Prior to commencing in this role a minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; a current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI) and a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
