About the Company. 

Our client is an Asia-Pacific focussed real estate and development business, with offices all over Asia. 

They have incredible, state of the art offices in the heart of Sydney and boast a superb, high performing collaborative culture and working from home options. 

They are a business that is always looking to improve and as such boast best in class processes, systems and leadership.

Due to growth they are now looking for a Senior Accountant to spearhead the development finance arm of the business. 

About the Role

You will be responsible for the day to day finances for the development part of the business and will have key stakeholder engagements across the fund and development team.

Key responsibilities are:-

  • Accrue monthly Development Management fees based on calculations provided by the Development team.
  • Ensure timely payment of fees and act as the main contact for the Corporate team regarding any fee collection delays, coordinating with Funds Finance and the Development team as needed.
  • Maintain accurate financial data
  • Accrue monthly development capital expenditures (CapEx) as required.
  • Provide up-to-date cost information, including accruals, for each fund valuation cycle and year-end reporting.
  • Analyse actuals versus forecasts to assess the impact on overall valuations.
  • Support year-end audits related to development costs and valuations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development and Accounts Payable teams to resolve contract or invoice issues and ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Assist the Development or Fund Management teams with ad hoc queries and analysis related to actual project development costs.
  • Proactively identify and recommend process and system improvements within both the Development and Finance teams.
  • Support and take ownership of deliverables for team projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

Ideally you will be an experienced CPA or CA qualified accountant who has experience in Property Development. 

You will understand and have experience in Job Costing and Project Reporting 

Outside that, you will ideally have

  • Experience of Yardi (or similar system) in particular job costing
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to complete tasks while meeting tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and good record-keeping skills
  • Professional, results driven, strong work ethic and with high integrity
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Team player focussed on supporting team deliverables
  • Ability to coordinate various business stakeholders and competing deadlines
