About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Waste Services team We are currently seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and skilled individual to join us.
This position will predominantly be servicing public litter bins which include park bins, street bins, compound bins in a safe and efficient manner. Other duties include servicing commercial properties, bin maintenance/delivery, litter picking and district clean-ups. Correct manual handling techniques and safe operations of machinery is essential.
The position holder must be willing to learn and assist other areas of the Waste team such as safe and efficient operation of Rear and Side Loader vehicles to collect General Waste, Recycling or Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) bins as well as bulk waste from verges within the City of Swan as required while adhering closely to health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
Be an effective member of the Waste Services team in providing a consistently reliable and efficient service to customers with a commitment to a high level of customer service. The Litter Control Officer will utilise strong customer service and negotiation skills to respond to internal and external customer requirements and issues, as well as obtaining the best value outcomes for the maintenance of the City's assets.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Current HR class Drivers Licence
- Experience and knowledge of safe and efficient operation of heavy vehicles
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required
- Deliver outstanding customer service
- Understanding of safety in the workplace
- Community minded with a willingness to improve the quality of life for our community
- Computer skills to complete online learning training; use workplace software and basic Microsoft office applications

The salary for this position will be from $70,039 to $73,261 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
