About the role

We are seeking an experienced Product Coordinator to join our growing team at H.A.G Import Corpn Pty Ltd, based in Brooklyn, VIC. This is a full-time position supporting the product team in managing the lifecycle of a diverse portfolio of product categories across a number of well-known brands, including Maxwell & Williams, Casa Domani, Krosno, Woll, and many more.

In this role, you will assist with product sourcing, development, and merchandising, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure product launches run smoothly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for product development, a keen eye for detail, and solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel.


Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Sourcing

  • Assist in sourcing new products and suppliers, with a focus on quality, innovation, and price competitiveness.
  • Support product development by liaising with suppliers, designers, and factories.
  • Conduct trend and market research to identify emerging styles and consumer preferences.
  • Passion for product development, willingness to learn and be part of full lifecycle from product ideation to in-store execution.
  • Prepare and maintain product specification sheets, ensuring all product data is accurate and up-to-date.

Product Management & Coordination

  • Coordinate the product lifecycle from concept through to delivery, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Manage product samples, photography, and packaging requirements for launches and marketing campaigns.
  • Be aware of product performance, including sales data and stock levels, to assist with forecasting and planning.

Supplier & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Communicate with local and international suppliers regarding orders, lead times, and product updates.
  • Assist in negotiating pricing, MOQ (minimum order quantities), and timelines with vendors.
  • Work closely with marketing, e-commerce, and retail teams to ensure product information is accurate and optimised for all channels.

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain product databases, catalogues, and SKU lists.
  • Prepare regular reports on product performance, sales trends, and inventory management.
  • Support the team with documentation for compliance, shipping, and quality control.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience: 1–3 years in a similar role (product coordination, buying assistant, or merchandising assistant).
  • Industry Knowledge: Passion for homewares and kitchenware market, including trends and materials a bonus.
  • Understanding of offshore procurement process: Familiarity with the steps involved in purchasing goods and experience liaising with offshore vendors (China/India).

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Organisational Skills: Ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage timelines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel skills essential, including data analysis, formulas, and pivot tables. Experience with product management systems or ERP software is a plus.
  • Other Attributes: Creative mindset, commercially aware, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment - with a desire to grow their career and capabilities in a product buying office.
