Role Overview

We're looking for a Head of People & Culture who can build strong, trusted relationships across our team and guide the business through growth. You'll lead the full employee lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding to development and exit - and take ownership of performance management, culture, and employee relations.

This role is both strategic and hands-on: designing frameworks that scale, while also being present day-to-day to resolve issues, coach managers, and ensure compliance with Fair Work and WHS responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Performance

  • Lead performance management processes and frameworks across the business.
  • Manage employee relations matters with clarity, fairness, and compliance.
  • Coach managers to apply performance and feedback processes confidently.

Culture & Engagement

  • Embed the Goodbyes values (Growth is Power, Meaningful Interactions, Second to None, Own Your Impact).
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen workplace culture and improve engagement.
  • Champion wellbeing and positive employee experiences across all stores and head office.

People Operations

  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by leading WHS compliance, keeping safety a key focus, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Own the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, progression, and exits.
  • Oversee payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Maintain contracts, policies, and compliance aligned with Fair Work, WHS, and employment law.
  • Track and analyse people metrics (e.g. turnover, retention, team satisfaction) to guide decision-making.

Skills & Experience

  • 4–5+ years in People & Culture, HR, or a similar role (multi-site retail or customer-facing environment desirable).
  • Strong grounding in employee relations, performance management, and Fair Work compliance.
  • Experience leading the full employee lifecycle in a growing organisation.
  • Proven ability to coach and build confidence in people leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with empathy, pragmatism, and attention to detail.
