You want to actively participate in shaping policies and initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy adoption, and enhance the overall environmental performance of the transport network.

In this role, you'll:

Working in a diverse and experienced team, you will provide expert advice and assistance to Transport for New South Wales staff and contractors on a large range of environmental management, compliance, planning and assessment requirements.

With a focus on Western Sydney road development and construction projects, you will support compliance of organisational, environmental and sustainability frameworks, achieve required Government environmental outcomes and meet the expectations of the community of NSW.

You will be responsible for influencing the implementation of best practice environmental and sustainability standards and practices to gain effective outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to work five days a month from the Parramatta office with another five days a month from an approved workplace, which could be Parramatta, another office or on site

This role is offered as a temporary contract until 19/02/2027.

About you

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NSW and federal regulations requirements relating to good environmental practice, policies and procedures, as well as experience in environmental planning, assessment and delivery compliance.

You're recognised as someone who has strong problem solving and negotiating skills and can use your interpersonal skills to manage a variety of stakeholders. You will have the ability to prioritise your work under pressure in complex environments.

You have demonstrated experience in environmental planning, assessment and delivery compliance. Previous road infrastructure experience would be welcome however it is not essential.

Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, sustainability management and practice, planning, engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
