Centina are seeking a
Design Manager, including BIM coordination

, to lead and coordinate all design-related activities across the project lifecycle - from concept through to construction and handover.

The ideal candidate will not only deliver high-quality, compliant, and constructable designs but will also mentor and support less experienced team members, helping to cultivate a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing design culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design Management

  • Manage and lead the design development process across all project stages.
  • Coordinate and review architectural, structural, and services documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and constructability.
  • Ensure design compliance with regulatory requirements, project briefs, client expectations, and contract documentation.
  • Facilitate design review meetings, workshops, and presentations with consultants, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Drive value engineering and innovation in design while maintaining functionality and compliance.

BIM Coordination

  • Oversee the implementation of
    Building Information Modelling (
    BIM) strategies across the project.
  • Coordinate BIM deliverables between architects, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Ensure the BIM model is developed and maintained in accordance with the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and industry standards.
  • Review 3D models for clash detection, spatial coordination, and constructability using tools such as Navisworks or Revit.
  • Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) and ensure consistent file management, naming conventions, and version control.
  • Liaise with BIM Managers or Coordinators from consultant and subcontractor teams to resolve coordination issues.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure timely production, review, and submission of design documentation at each project stage.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of planning applications, permits, and approvals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register of design deliverables and track progress against the design program.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, estimators, and contract administrators to align design with construction and procurement activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and industry bodies.
  • Provide leadership to internal design or digital engineering teams (if applicable).

Risk & Quality Management

  • Identify design risks and proactively manage design-related issues.
  • Review consultant outputs to ensure compliance with design briefs, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
  • Ensure robust design QA/QC processes are implemented and followed.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of experience in design management within the construction or property development industry.
  • Proven experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams on commercial, infrastructure, or institutional projects.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM principles, digital coordination workflows, and industry standards (e.g., ISO
  • Skilled in using BIM and design tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360 / ACC).
  • Understanding of construction sequencing, cost planning, and procurement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Additional qualifications or certifications in BIM Management, Digital Engineering, or VDC (desirable).
  • Familiarity with local building codes, planning regulations, and statutory requirements.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • Delivery of coordinated design documentation in line with project milestones.
  • Effective clash resolution and BIM model quality.
  • Design compliance with project brief, budget, and construction program.
  • Positive stakeholder feedback and collaborative consultant relationships.
  • Minimization of design-related RFIs and construction rework.
