The Role
The Residential Services Officer supports the smooth running of the household and premises and works on the client-facing administration activities of Jarrah House. You'll need to have a compassionate, client-centered focus and be able to readily switch tasks, sometimes to an urgent priority. Clients will rely on you to support them with appointments, completing documents, completing chores and attending program activities. Part of the small front of house team, you'll also liaise with and guide other services and trades, guests and deliveries. To be successful in the role, you're most likely to have experience in health & community services, accommodation services or supporting boarders in an educational setting.

What We Do
Jarrah House is the residential rehabilitation location for the Women's Alcohol and Drug Advisory Centre Incorporated (WADAC), a Non-Government Organisation providing services in withdrawal management, rehabilitation and individual and group counselling, and services to improve the wellbeing and health outcomes of families and carers, and the people they support.
The voluntary admission Residential Rehabilitation Centre in South-East Sydney, Jarrah House, is a place of care and compassion for women experiencing drug and alcohol dependence. A 'women's only service', it is one of a small group of restricted-entry services and the only one in NSW providing in-house residential withdrawal management and Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) participation with dependent children also in residence.

Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this role you will also need to;
- be competent in Microsoft Office applications and the basic functions (invoicing) of a finance application
- have the right to work in Australia
- have a current NSW Driver's License and willingness to drive for work
- be vaccinated for Covid-19 and Whooping Cough
- be willing to gain a National Police Check clearance and Working with Children Check clearance
- have a willingness to apply your skills to a variety of administrative projects and activities
- identify as a woman – we have an exemption from sections 25 and 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 to advertise, designate and recruit women only in all positions that work directly with, or are in regular contact with clients.
Other information:
The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5pm including a 30-minute unpaid meal break. There is the opportunity to adjust hours slightly and work a 19-day month.
