Strategic Business Advisor

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a

multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Strategic Business Advisor in Canberra to work on Joint projects
.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

• Governance Oversight
  : Manage and update key governance documents including the
  
  IPdMP
  
  ,
  
  PdS
  
  , Business Plan, and Product Status Reports.

• Risk Management Coordination
  : Collaborate with JC2SPO and stakeholders to identify, assess, and maintain CAF16 risks in Predict.

• Secretariat Support
  : Lead CAF16 Board activities, including governance framework management, presentation development, and minute dissemination.

• Assurance & Review Activities
  : Coordinate Independent Assurance Reviews and contribute to Sustainment Assessment Review responses.

• Stakeholder Engagement
  : Liaise with AWC stakeholders to strengthen capability outcomes across CAF16 systems and applications.

What You'll Bring

• Relevant Defence Training
  : Completion of Business Acumen, CASG Risk Management, and CASG Foundations courses is highly desirable.

• Strategic Planning Experience
  : Proven ability to write strategic and business plans for Defence organisations, ideally within CASG.

• CASG Process Knowledge
  : Strong understanding of CASG's organisational structure and sustainment processes.

• Independent & Team-Oriented Work Style
  : Capable of working autonomously while contributing effectively
  
  in
  
  team environments.

• Stakeholder Engagement Skills
  : Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum
Negative Vetting 1
or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
