As the Senior Advisor, Cyber Security you work closely with CIO to manage cyber security and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) capability in conjunction with our ICT Service Providers. Together with the CIO your efforts will help to ensure the environment is safe and secure and that data assets are appropriately managed. You will be expected to engage in complex problem solving and issues management and you may coordinate and undertake detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic or operational outcomes.

What will you be doing?
- Provide leadership, develop and manage the day-to-day running of cyber security and governance and information security-related PSPF functions including providing security advice, policy creation, project advice and assistance, conducting research
- Support the security roles, including working closely with the ICT Service Providers and the Information Technology Security Advisor (ITSA).
- Actively contribute to strategic direction by developing and implementing cyber security and PSPF related services to support core business, including identification of areas of improvement and working with IT Service Providers and security partners to uplift cyber resilience and security capability.
- Deliver cyber and PSPF related projects and implement Cyber & Security Strategies and Roadmaps including ongoing review of these documents to drive and deliver security improvements
- Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with the Executive, business areas and service providers to ensure Cyber needs and governance requirements are communicated and understood.
- Identify, manage and report on cyber security risk and technical issues, engaging in complex problem solving and issues management as it relates to cyber security issues.
- Actively manage key stakeholder and supplier relationships (both internal and external)
- Undertake risk assessment and risk management activities including identifying, evaluating and articulating technical risk, preparing or coordinating the preparation of risk management plans and policies for systems and monitoring and updating these on a regular basis.
- Undertake, manage and report or participate in ICT related procurement and contract management functions related to cyber and PSPF security arrangements.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislative and reporting requirements, Australian and International standards, quality assurance procedures and best practice models as they relate to ICT and Cyber Security
- Prepare complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation, reports, submissions, proposal papers and notes including those related to security activities
- Other duties as directed.
Skills and experience required to succeed in this role?
- Australian citizen with NV1 Security Clearance
- Demonstrated leadership experience that can brief executives as well as work autonomously.
- Minimum of 3+ years in Cyber lead role with Federal Government experience
- Demonstrated Experience with - Essential 8, ISM, PSPF and how they need to be embedded and applied in a Federal Government agency.
- Demonstrated Experience with - Cyber operations and undertaking threat assessments Work onsite in Canberra, ACT.Job Summary:
