About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Data Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for current university or master's students in IT, Computer Science, or Data Science who are looking to gain hands-on industry experience while applying their academic knowledge to real-world projects.

As a Data Administrator, you will support both technical and business operations by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Software Development to enhance CRM systems, optimise data workflows, and provide actionable insights for the retail sector.

Key Responsibilities
AI / ML / Software Development
  • Apply AI and Machine Learning techniques to optimise and enhance CRM platforms (e.g., accounts, contacts, opportunities).
  • Profile leads and prospects to improve targeting, forecasting, and conversion efficiency.
  • Use data science methodologies to extract actionable insights and identify growth opportunities.
  • Test and deploy new AI models, developing proof-of-concept projects for validation and roll-out.
  • Support backend components for Power Apps and Dynamics 365, including workflow automation and UI customisation.
Database Management
  • Prepare, extract, transform, and load (ETL) structured and unstructured retail data for analysis.
  • Clean, integrate, and migrate datasets from multiple sources for CRM ingestion and modern platform use.
  • Analyse and optimise database files to support retail operations and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines within CRM/PowerApps for streamlined data extraction and reporting.
Retail Reporting & Proposals (A-P Focus)
  • Manage and clean retail evidence for easy retrieval and forecasting, with a focus on Melbourne CBD and nearby areas.
  • Extract and present market insights, trends, and retail highlights for newsletters, client proposals, and prospecting activities.
  • Collaborate with business teams to co-lead discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical meetings.
  • Provide IT and data support to retail agents, enhancing productivity and strategic operations.
  • Support the expansion of leads and prospects, leveraging data to identify new opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Open to current university students (undergraduate or postgraduate) in IT, Computer Science, or Data Science seeking part-time work.
  • Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and database administration.
  • Basic understanding of ETL processes, data cleaning, and data integration.
  • Familiarity with PowerApps, CRM platforms (Dynamics 365 preferred), and workflow automation is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or C# (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
