Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our dedicated team at Iona College Geelong. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys supporting a vibrant school community.

About the Role

The Maintenance Officer plays a key role in ensuring the school grounds, buildings, and facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented. The position involves a variety of hands-on tasks including general repairs, preventative maintenance, assisting with events, and liaising with contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs across school facilities, classrooms, and grounds.
  • Conduct regular safety and compliance checks.
  • Assist with the set-up and pack-down of school events and functions.
  • Work with external contractors and service providers when required.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are well maintained.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.

About You

  • Previous experience in building/grounds maintenance, trades, or a similar role.
  • Strong practical skills in a range of areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, or gardening.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to supporting the values and ethos of the school community.
  • A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
