About the Role

ilma Beach House is looking for an outstanding Sous Chef to join our passionate team at our beautiful oceanside location in Naturaliste, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will play a key role in our kitchen operations, supporting the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Our menu celebrates vibrant flavours, fresh seafood, and seasonal produce, all Mediterranean-inspired in keeping with the style of ilma Beach House.

Your expertise will shine as you support the team in creating a memorable culinary journey, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service. Reporting directly to our Head Chef, you will collaborate to ensure the continued success and excellence of the culinary offerings at ilma Beach House.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing high-quality, innovative dishes using fresh, seasonal local produce
• Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
• Support the development of creative, high-quality menus that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce
• Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and to the highest standards of food safety and quality
• Provider mentorship to a team of skilled chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and an exceptional guest experience
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and support the implementation of continuous improvements

What we're looking for

• Significant experience as a Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant or similar establishment
• Demonstrated expertise in creating innovative, flavourful dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure
• Thorough understanding of food safety and kitchen operation regulations
• Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience

With a focus on sustainable, locally-sourced ingredients and exceptional service, we offer our guests a truly memorable dining experience. Our restaurant opens for breakfast and lunch service Thursdays through Monday with weddings and events some evenings. Additionally, we may extend our hours over the summer holiday season.

Pay: $82,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
