About Balonne Shire:

The Balonne Shire is located along the beautiful Balonne River, just five hours' drive west of Brisbane on the QLD-NSW border. Balonne Shire Council has a dedicated team of 110+ staff and population of 4,500 people who live in the surrounding towns of St George, Thallon, Dirranbandi, Bollon, Nindigully, Mungindi and Hebel.

About the Position:

The Workforce Development role is to assist employers, job seekers, residents, and key stakeholders in achieving workforce development objectives and outcomes for the Balonne region.

About you:

  • Demonstrable high-level communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with external stakeholders in a culturally diverse environment

  • Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload to achieve quality outcomes

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Strong literacy skills
  • Minimum two (2) years relevant professional experience - can include volunteer work with non-profit organisations, working with multiple stakeholders etc.
  • Highly developed computer skills, including proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite

What we offer:

This is a full-time, temporary (12 months) position, salary cash component – Level 5.1 - $82,570 per annum.

  • Locality allowance of $1,945 per annum
  • Optional 19-day month, RDO arrangement
  • 5 weeks annual leave
