Our client, Department of Education, are currently seeking a Senior Facilities Services Officer (Claims Management team) for an initial 2-year contract with likely 1 year extension option.

The Role

A highly skilled and motivated Senior Facilities Services Officer is required to join the Infrastructure Service Division. This role is pivotal in supporting claims management processes, reporting, communication, and documentation review, while driving operational efficiency and delivering high-quality analytics. The successful candidate will play a key role in claims reporting, financial oversight, operational analytics, and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of communication and documentation across the division.

As the Senior Infrastructure Services Officer (Claims Management), you will be responsible for:

  • Claims Management Reporting - Design and maintain high-quality reports and analytics for the Claims Management team, providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Operational Analytics - Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities, and support operational efficiency and strategic decisions.
  • Financial Oversight - Ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting, and assist with budget planning and forecasting for claims-related activities.
  • Communication and Documentation Review - Collaborate with the Principal Infrastructure Services Officer to standardise communication materials and review documentation (policies, procedures, templates, guidelines) for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organisational standards.
  • Submission Preparation - Support the preparation of submissions to the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery by coordinating with internal teams to gather necessary data and documentation.

Proficiencies and skills suitable for this role include:

  • Business Process Modelling and Analytics - Expertise in business process modelling and advanced analytics, with proficiency in tools like Power BI to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills - Advanced proficiency in Excel, including macros, Power Query, advanced formulas, data validation, and the ability to update or modify complex custom models.
  • Communication and Documentation - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail in drafting and reviewing documentation, and experience in developing templates, procedures, and operational documents. Proven ability to manage and improve communication workflows.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities - Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills to address challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Process Improvement - Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Skilled in building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaboration and clear communication
