The Embassy of Uruguay in Canberra, Australia, is seeking to fill a full-time position for an Administration and Financial Officer (38 hours per week).

The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including administrative management, event coordination, social media management, and support in the organization of events.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold permanent residency in Australia
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, with a strong background in office management, scheduling, and general administrative support
  • Experience in accounting is an advantage
  • Experience using Canva is desirable
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English; knowledge of Spanish is desirable

Main duties include:

  • Scheduling meetings and appointments, managing incoming emails and correspondence
  • Processing and recording financial transactions via internal online systems
  • Managing monthly filing, reporting, and registration of expenditures
  • Liaising with Australian agencies regarding human resources and employer obligations
  • Assisting diplomatic officials with secretarial tasks and the organisation of events
  • Updating and managing information databases
  • Preparing letters, notes, reports, presentations, and briefs
  • Performing other administrative duties as required
