Social Media & Content Coordinator – Explore Careers
South Melbourne-based | Hybrid (3 office / 2 WFH)
Why this role might be for you:
- You live and breathe social media and know what works on Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- You can turn ideas into scroll-stopping content that feels fresh, fun, and on-trend
- You know how to grow an audience, boost engagement, and create content people actually want to interact with
If you're creative, strategic, and have your finger firmly on the pulse of what's trending, this could be your perfect next move.
At Explore Careers, we're a small, tight-knit team doing big things. We connect some of Australia's leading employers – like Jetstar, Deloitte, Coles, Sportsgirl, and Telstra – with high schools across the country to help young Australians explore the world of work.
Our work helps young people better understand the careers available to them, while giving employers a trusted way to build their brand, reach future talent, and strengthen community ties.
Now we're looking for a Social Media & Content Coordinator to take the lead on our social channels, grow our online presence, and keep our content fresh, engaging, and authentic. You'll be hands-on with everything from big-picture strategy to the finer details of captions, hashtags, and analytics.
What you'll be doing:
This role is all about creating and managing content that connects. You'll be responsible for running our social media channels end-to-end – from planning and creation to posting, community engagement, and reporting.
Your day-to-day might include (but isn't limited to):
- Managing our Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn accounts
- Developing and delivering content plans that align with our brand and goals
- Filming and editing videos, reels, and TikToks that actually stop the scroll
- Writing captions, posts, blogs, and longer-form stories
- Managing paid social campaigns and tracking their performance
- Engaging with our community – replying to comments, DMs, and building real connections
- Analysing performance and sharing insights to keep improving our content
- Keeping up with trends, tools, and platform updates so we're always ahead of the curve
Who we're looking for:
We're after someone creative, confident, and ready to own the role. You'll have experience running social accounts, know how to create content that cuts through, and be comfortable balancing creativity with strategy.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Have proven experience creating content and managing social media accounts
- Know your way around Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn – from algorithms to analytics
- Can shoot, edit, and post short-form video content that feels authentic and on-trend
- Write clearly and creatively, adapting your tone for different platforms and audiences
- Understand how to grow and engage an online community
- Have experience running and optimising paid ads on social platforms
- Are proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities at once
- Love being part of a small, collaborative team where your ideas matter
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in youth engagement, careers, or education
- Graphic design skills or experience with Canva, Adobe, or similar tools
- An understanding of SEO and how it connects with content
Remuneration
This role offers a competitive base salary based on experience.
Why Explore Careers?
- We're a small, passionate team making a big impact across schools and industry
- You'll work with a great mix of clients, from national brands to government departments
- No red tape – just a supportive, fast-moving environment where your work matters
- Real opportunity to shape your role and grow with the business
- Flexible hybrid setup – 3 days in the office (South Melbourne), 2 from home
- Office perks include a golf simulator, gym, basketball court, Pilates classes, and more
Sound like your kind of role? We'd love to hear from you.
