About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable full time Finance Manager to oversee and manage all our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to improving financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all internal financial functions such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. These functions are currently outsourced and would need to be done internally.
  • Perform daily payment and reconcile the bank to ensure accurate record keeping (mobile terminals, bank, cash, and deposits).
  • Oversee accounts receivable and ensure timely payments from distributors, retailers, or end customers.
  • Liaise with insurance brokers to ensure all assets are accurately covered.
  • Prepare payroll, including timesheet tracking and performance-based bonuses.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of BAS, GST, PAYG, and EOFY documentation.
  • Monitor and report on charge rates, gross margins and job profitability.
  • Use advanced Microsoft Excel skills for forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation schedules.
  • Improve and manage inventory processes to minimise excess stock and prevent shortages.
  • Secure favourable lending rates from banks or other lenders for future expansion.
  • Procure inventory and ensure favourable terms with suppliers while making use of 30 day accounts to alleviate pressure on cash flow.
  • Run accurate stocktakes and stock value reports.
  • Apply internal control frameworks to strengthen financial procedures and governance.
  • Support general operational tasks as required, reflective of a dynamic and complex business environment.
  • Be able to manage bill of materials in order to drive down cost of sales.
  • Able to present consolidated financial statement for the different enterprises.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting and financial management skills, with a background in manufacturing and experience in the agricultural sector.

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting (bachelor's degree or higher).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
  • Someone who comes from a company with multiple branches across different regions and is willing to get involved in learning the operations of the business to ensure the financial sector of the business can thrive.
  • Worked in an agricultural sector.
  • Willing to work weekends
  • Strong experience in management accounting, including:
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Stock and inventory management
  • Audit preparation and compliance
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups).
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the flexibility to adapt in a growing business.
