We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Power Integrity & Boiler Engineer to join us in our Power Engineering team in Brisbane or Mount Isa, QLD on a Permanent Full Time Contract.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager - East, you will act as Technical Authority for boilers, HRSGs, and high-energy piping, and lead the development and delivery of the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Plan for Diamantina.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Plan (PEIMP) for pressure vessels, boilers, HRSGs, and associated piping systems.
- Support statutory inspections and repairs following AS/NZS 3788, AS1210, and Queensland boiler regulations.
- Lead root cause analysis and defect elimination for boiler and HRSG issues.
- Manage external contractors, OEMs, and NDT providers to ensure safe, high-quality inspections and repairs.
- Oversee risk assessments, fitness-for-service evaluations, and lifecycle planning for boilers and pressure vessels.
- Provide technical input for outage planning, scoping, and execution of integrity-related work.
- Collaborate with Siemens and HRSG OEMs to optimise performance, manage life extension, and implement upgrades
Your background
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or an equivalent qualification.
- CPEng status or actively progressing towards Chartered status with Engineers Australia.
- Extensive experience in pressure equipment or boiler engineering within power generation or heavy industry.
- Demonstrated expertise with HRSGs, gas-fired CCGT plants, and pressure systems aligned with Australian standards.
- In-depth knowledge of AS/NZS 3788, AS1210, and statutory obligations under Queensland legislation.
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques, life assessment methods, and materials degradation mechanisms such as creep, fatigue, FAC, and corrosion.
