Orora Beverage provides market-leading sustainable packaging solutions for the beverage industry. We specialise in glass bottles and aluminium cans with manufacturing sites across Australia and New Zealand.

We support the entire beverage industry from craft brewers who are just starting out on their journey through to major companies with operations across the globe. Our customer markets include beer and cider, alcoholic ready-to-drink, carbonated soft drinks, juices, wine, seltzers, energy drinks and more.

The Role

Our Cans business is rapidly growing to meet increasing customer demands across Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania. With recent and continuing investment, we expect an increase in our ANZ can business capacity of over 30% by FY30. This growth presents an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals like you to help shape our future.

We are seeking a commercially astute and driven Site Accountant to join our team. This full-time, Monday to Friday position we are offering flexible working arrangements, based 2 days onsite at our Hawthorn office and fortnightly visits to our site in Ballarat, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our growing business. You will report directly to the Finance Director Operations and collaborate closely with the Ballarat Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial accounting, forecasting, and reporting for the Ballarat site.
  • Provide reporting to key stakeholders to support effective decision-making.
  • Own and manage site-based capital requests, including forecasting for capital projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems and procedures around accounting and reporting, including direct material tracking and cost per unit analysis.
  • Support the Finance Director in ad-hoc Cans divisional reporting and projects.
  • Manage statutory reporting, budgeting, and strategic analysis.
  • Lead commercial analysis and integration.

About You

  • Tertiary degree in Accountancy, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • Post-graduate qualification (CPA or ACA).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • At least 7 to 10 years of experience in financial or management accounting, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent financial accounting and systems skills (SAP & QAD preferred).
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with the initiative to challenge the status quo.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
