We are looking for League Hosts who are sports enthusiasts to join our team at Urban Rec Central Coast.

Urban Rec is a national social sports league and events company. Our mission is to change the way Australians play sport. With our recent launch in Central Coast, we need League Hosts who share our passion for sport and community.

League Hosts are part coach, part referee, and are in charge of creating a positive and social atmosphere. You must be outgoing, social and energetic. You must know your sport's rules really well, and feel confident in coaching and endorsing the rules. Experience refereeing is highly desirable but not essential.

The role is available for Monday to Friday work during the afternoons/evenings. We have multiple sports to choose from including Netball, Indoor Soccer, Volleyball and Pickleball. The role is open for hosting Junior Soccer Leagues (ages 5-12) and adult leagues (18+).

We need someone social and approachable but with enough authority and maturity to manage feedback and oversee their league. You should love sports, and have a basic to intermediate understanding of sports like Netball, Soccer, Volleyball etc. You don't need experience as a referee, we are just looking for motivated people who aren't afraid to have a crack.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Refereeing league nights whilst being able to organise teams to start on time, coaching new players and engaging with members throughout the night.
  • Maintaining clear communication with members and effective conflict resolution
  • Ensuring all participants have signed waivers, and are rostered
  • Ensure members are aware of Urban Rec events, discounts, perks, and policies
  • Assist with season opener nights and presentation nights
  • Host activation weeks for leagues that need additional member experience'
  • Build rapport and relationships with all participants
  • Attend Clubhouses for post-game drinks (must be 18+)
  • Current Working With Children Check required if interested in refereeing junior sports (optional)

  • A confident person, who can think for themselves
  • Able to referee multiple sports as necessary
  • Be located on the Central Coast
  • Available to work 1-2 afternoon/evenings Monday to Friday
  • Competency using social media

HOURS AND PAY

This role is casual and perfect for a uni student or someone looking to make extra money outside of their day job. The basic hours are 4-8:30 PM, but times will vary depending on sport preference. There will need to be flexibility to finish later some nights.

There is a generous hourly rate, paid weekly. (Hello savings)
