Our clients here in Perth are looking for an experienced Identity and Access Management Engineer for a 12 month contract based on site here in the Perth CBD.

This role is on site, it will pay $700 per day TOTAL daily rate and is 6 months with a 6 month extension option.

Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Position Overview

Our clients are seeking an experienced IT contractor to support and enhance their user account provisioning and access management processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with our existing staff member responsible for account creation and access control, providing expert guidance, hands-on support, and process improvement to strengthen our security posture and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the current access management staff to understand existing workflows and challenges.
  • Provide expert advice and hands-on assistance in provisioning and de-provisioning user accounts across network, application, and data systems.
  • Review and assess current access management practices and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Design and implement improved processes and documentation for account provisioning, aligned with best practices and security standards.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of operational security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Support compliance efforts by helping identify and mitigate risks related to access control, including managing and restricting admin privileges.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of tools or scripts to streamline manual tasks.
  • Promote awareness of access management and security obligations across the organization.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external auditors to ensure alignment with security benchmarks and audit requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in access management, identity governance, and account provisioning in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, including least privilege, role-based access control (RBAC), and audit logging.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, and other enterprise systems.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline account management tasks.
  • Ability to document processes and train staff on improved workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate.
  • Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
