The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated
Rope Access Supervisor
to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes across a range of planned shutdowns, maintenance programs, and project works.
As a leader in the field, you will be responsible for supervising rope access operations, ensuring compliance with IRATA standards, and fostering a strong safety culture while guiding and mentoring your team to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess leadership abilities to manage client, stakeholder and work crew to meet project goals
- Liaise with client and rope access managers to provide recommendations where necessary
- Lead teams and plan, schedule, and coordinate daily work programs
- Ensure crews are adequately resourced to safely complete works
- Conduct pre-start meetings and emphasise safety (HSE) obligations
- Monitor, implement, and control safety requirements and risk assessments to IRATA standards
- Inspect equipment, maintain in serviceable condition and calibrate or destroy if required
- Ability to withdraw damaged or inappropriate equipment and suspend work if unsafe
- Report incidents, near misses, unsafe behaviour and ensure teams hold IRATA qualifications
- Manage personnel, tooling, equipment, and materials for duration of works
- Manage work-packs, work orders and complete daily attendance records
- Apply a professional approach to carry out clear, pro-active resolutions to conflicts
- Promote a positive culture, reinforce company values and acceptable behaviour
- Lead by example through coaching or mentoring to assist progression of Level 1-2 Technicians
About You
- Full Australian Working Rights
- Construction White Card
- Relevant Australian recognised trade qualification
- Level 2-3 IRATA Certificate (valid) and logbook of work within last six months
- Australian Driver's Licence (C Class)
- Working at Heights Certificate (valid)
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Certificate (valid)
- High Risk Work Licence (HRWL)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- S26 Certification or currently undertaking
- BHP or FMG inducted with experience in Iron Ore
- Extensive knowledge in advanced rigging and rescue techniques
- Experience supervising rope access teams
- Strong communication skills, work ethic and a positive attitude
