The Storeman / Stock Controller is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of goods within the Chullora factory. This role ensures materials are handled safely, stock levels are accurately maintained, and inventory is managed to support efficient production and project delivery. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. Receiving and Inspecting

  • Receive all incoming deliveries in line with company procedures.
  • Inspect goods for quality, accuracy, and compliance with purchase orders.
  • Report any discrepancies or damage to the relevant manager promptly.

2. Storage and Handling

  • Store goods in designated locations to ensure easy identification and access.
  • Follow safe manual handling practices and ensure products are stored to prevent damage.
  • Maintain an organised and efficient warehouse layout.

3. Communication

  • Liaise with procurement, production, and site teams regarding stock availability and delivery schedules.
  • Provide timely updates to relevant departments on stock shortages or delivery issues.
  • Maintain clear communication with delivery drivers and suppliers.

4. Inventory Management

  • Conduct regular stocktakes and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Update stock records in the inventory management system in real time.
  • Assist with forecasting stock requirements based on production schedules.

5. Operating Equipment

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Conduct pre-start checks and report any faults or maintenance needs.
  • Ensure equipment is used and stored according to safety guidelines.

6. Maintaining Workplace

  • Keep the warehouse and storage areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
  • Adhere to company WHS policies and procedures at all times.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety training sessions.

  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a storeman, warehouse, or stock control role (manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Current forklift licence (LF) – essential.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and WHS requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 15kg safely.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.

Work Environment

This role is based in the Chullora manufacturing facility and involves both indoor and outdoor work. The Storeman / Stock Controller will work closely with production, procurement, and delivery teams to ensure smooth operations.
