Our Client
are a leading company in the diverse industries of Aerospace and Defence, Steel Trading, Non-Ferrous Distribution and Construction
.
They are also known for importing a broad range of steel, steel-related, non-ferrous and construction-related products into the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The role
The Production Supervisor will be frequently working across multiple areas of the business and complete tasks both in the office and on the workshop floor, as required. A high regard for safety, quality and meeting deadlines are critical in this position. This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday.
- Contract Review of order confirmations sent by the Sales Team
- Production planning - providing visibility on production and live updates on order status
- Manage production demand and workflow scheduling
- Expedite orders - monitor each order as it goes through production and track its progress
- Allocate material - ensuring the best yield is achieved from an operational perspective
- Run the waterjet cutter - create programs for quotes and order confirmations
- Supervise, motivate and encourage employees while understanding and developing individual capabilities
- Assist production with manual tasks such as picking and packing materials or operating the forklift when required
- Stay on top of general facility maintenance, such as shop floor and yard cleanliness
Qualifications required
- Experience and/or ability to operate production machinery - waterjet cutter
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and operate different technological platforms i.e. AutoCAD, SAP etc.
- Time management and task prioritisation skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Previous supervising experience required
- Ability to learn computer operations relevant to machine operations
- Hold a valid forklift licence and have high reach and stand on forklift experience, would be advantageous
