Mandalay Apartments in Port Douglas is seeking an experienced, hands-on Groundskeeper to keep our established tropical gardens and common areas looking their best.

What you'll do (key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to):

  • Mowing, edging, weeding, mulching and safe weed control (including responsible herbicide use).
  • Basic irrigation repairs and adjustments (Mandalay has a brand new irrigation system throughout).
  • Pool testing, cleaning and general upkeep of pool surrounds.
  • Cleaning and presentation of common areas (BBQs, stairwells, tennis court, walkways).
  • Keeping work sheds, tools and equipment tidy and in good working order.
  • Putting bins out for collection and completing a weekly bin clean.
  • Assisting guests and owners with luggage and occasional on-site requests.
  • Liaising with Reception to report maintenance issues and request supplies.

About you:

  • Physically fit, reliable, self-starter who takes pride in presentation.
  • Experience in lawn/garden maintenance or groundskeeping (resort or strata preferred).
  • Comfortable with pool care basics (or willing to learn).
  • Safe operator with chemicals, power tools and small machinery.
  • Current driver's licence preferred.
  • Must have full, unrestricted work rights in Australia.

Hours & roster: Approximately 30–38 hours per week (typical shifts are 5–8 hours; some early starts and occasional weekend work may be required).

What we provide: Tools, equipment and PPE; supportive on-site team;

Pay: Casual hourly rate + super (commensurate with experience).

Reports to: Office / Administration team

Start date: ASAP
