GEBIE Civil and Construction (GCC) is the commercial subsidiary of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIE). GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment.

We have an opportunity for a Full-time qualified Plumber to join the GCC team and work in the community in a wide-ranging role.

FIFO from DARWIN or CAIRNS - 18 days on / 10 days off.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with the Plumbing Supervisor and Repairs & Maintenance Manager for daily tasks including general maintenance, make safe maintenance, new residential construction, renovation, solar hot water systems, septic systems, fault finding.
  • Quote on jobs as reported from plumbing inspections.
  • Report progress of jobs ensuring compliance with documents & quality control.
  • Service and/or make provision for maintenance of all tools, vehicles and equipment to ensure serviceability and safety of operation.
  • Ensure relevant building plans, project documents and site instructions are understood before commencing work.
  • Carry out assigned work in a timely, professional and safe manner.
  • Have a can do, positive attitude

Skills and experience required:

  • Relevant trade qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Repairs and Maintenance Plumber in Australia
  • Experience in new housing rough in, fit off and below ground sewer drainage.
  • Experience in repairs and maintenance
  • Experience with Simpro or similar software
  • NT Plumbing Licence or ability to obtain one.
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Construction Card
  • Able to pass a full pre-employment medical, including DAS.
