Job Description

As a Merchandise Transformation Manager, you will be the subject matter expert on merchandise and commercial knowledge across a number of key strategic projects. Providing thought leadership using your extensive knowledge of end to end commercial processes; supplier engagement frameworks; commercial negotiation skills and category team ways of working.

You will partner with teams from across the business to transform the way we work by being a critical part of a team, working together to build and embed new data informed tools and processes, supporting the end users of the tools and leading change across the Merchandise team.

  • Leverage your retail experience to represent the best interests of our customers and our teams.
  • Support the Merchandise team to transform the way we work for the better.
  • Work with the Merchandise team on ways we can simplify or improve existing processes.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the Merchandise teams approach to pricing and seek out ways to enable the team to benefit from the use of AI tools
  • Input to team engagement and training frameworks to ensure the effective implementation of AI tools.
  • Support in building capability in the Merchandise team to support introduction of AI tools.
  • Support the various stream leads and squads to develop the ways of working to meet the objectives of each initiative.
  • Actively share knowledge and insights from Merchandise ways of working to identify any potential risks or issues to the project, offering mitigations where possible.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the Merchandise team on the transformation projects, providing regular updates and engaging teams for testing, pilot training etc.
  • Provide analytical reporting on project progress and forecasts for future performance.

Qualifications

Now let's talk about you:

  • 5+ years in a Category Management Role or similar, preferably within the liquor industry.
  • Tertiary qualification in business management or related discipline.
  • Detailed understanding of retail pricing and promotional approaches and the ability to strategically apply that knowledge to process development.
  • Experience in fostering a growth mindset culture.
  • A general interest in and understanding of current AI tools and their applications.
  • A proven track record of utilising your network to solve problems and/or gain expert advice.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team and management.
  • A well developed understanding of the supplier landscape, investment models and trade spend.
