Overview of the roleWhat you'll do:
  • Develop and implement category plans, sourcing strategies and/or negotiation strategies
  • Gather appropriate market and industry intelligence about categories in scope
  • Manage a category of existing suppliers and contracts including analysis of existing contracts and current spend
  • Identify initiatives that derive benefits, through sourcing, demand management and/or contract management opportunities
  • Prioritise initiatives according to business criticality, capacity requirements, inter-dependencies and potential benefits
  • Define appropriate supply models for each category of spend
  • Align Supplier and Suncorp processes to drive efficiencies for both parties
  • Provide representation and relationship management for Procurement for Personal Injury, Fraud and Intelligence, and Recoveries and Settlements services.
What you'll bring:
  • Experienced procurement professional with minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement and category management. Mandatory
  • Experience with claims or Insurance is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with Ariba would be highly regarded
  • Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base. Mandatory
  • Experience in achieving and being accountable for tangible commercial results. Mandatory
  • Experience in delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes within a standardised project management framework and structured procurement approach. Mandatory
  • Cross-functional expertise and stakeholder management with an ability to partner and collaborate with multiple leaders, functions and suppliers.
  • Interpersonal skills to lead, build an engaged, service focused and enabled team, consult, negotiate, communicate, influence and sell
