Civil Design Engineer

Maker is a fast growing, highly regarded employee-owned consultancy looking for Civil Design Engineers in Wollongong, Nowra, Newcastle and Geelong.

With a team of over 60 staff, Maker is working on a diverse range of public infrastructure and land development projects for clients across all sectors and industries within New South Wales and Victoria.

The Role
Working under the direct supervision of Principal Civil Engineers, you will be exposed to high profile urban infrastructure and land development projects, which will draw on your engineering design experience and provide career development opportunities.

Your Responsibilities Would Include

• Providing comprehensive civil engineering designs and drafting services needed to deliver innovative, fit for purpose design solutions
• Having excellent computer skills to work with multiple types of design software
• Working closely with engineers, government officials, and other staff members you will have excellent verbal communication and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot potential problems with plans, designs, and sketches as well as adjustment to plans as needed
• Being detail orientated, you will have the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Skills & Experience

• Project experience including land development, roads and civil infrastructure will be highly regarded
• Strong design capabilities and knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to work autonomously as part of a dynamic and very busy team
• Experience with local government design standards/approvals will be highly regarded
• Confidence and experience using AutoCAD for more than 4 years is desirable
• Formal AutoCAD training is desirable
