Emerald State School (ESS) P&C Association are looking for a Tuckshop Convenor to run Essie's Kitchen

The position is open for an immediate start following necessary Blue Card and police checks etc.

Casual, Term Time (with the possibility of becoming permanent part-time)

Eighteen (18) hours per week

Wednesday - Preparation Day 9:00 - 2:00pm

Thursday - Tuckshop Day 7:30 - 2:00pm

Friday - Tuckshop Day 7:30 - 2:00pm

(Open to adjustments to suit the role and applicant as needed)

The role of Tuckshop Convenor is such an important one in the school community.  We are looking for a suitably qualified person who will be able to both serve delicious and nutritious food to our school community, whilst maintaining a great place for our wonderful volunteers to be.

ESS Tuckshop is looking to make most of its nutritious food onsite whilst providing a variety of food choices.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Service of delicious and nutritious food
  • Menu creation
  • Volunteer management
  • Stock ordering
  • Supplier engagement
  • Cleaning and maintaining the tuckshop
  • Monthly reporting to the P and C

Skills and attributes

  • Understanding of food handling procedures and the Smart Choices strategy,
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate others in a warm and professional manner,
  • Basic financial management skills,
  • Good computer skills and the ability to work with an online ordering system,
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience relating to the position,
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills,
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, use knowledge and initiative to problem solve,
  • Commitment to service and performance excellence.

  • A criminal history check will be undertaken
  • The successful applicant must hold a current Queensland Working with Children/Qld Positive Notice (Blue Card) prior to commencing the role
