We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Service System Navigator to strengthen culturally safe, trauma-informed responses for multicultural women experiencing family and sexual violence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Family & Sexual Violence Community Engagement Manager, this role is BRMC's first point of contact for FV/SV referrals with a primary focus on client navigation and consultation, and a secondary focus on regional system coordination and integration. You will:
- Provide initial consultation as the first point of contact
- Conduct risk assessments and safety planning
- Provide information, advocacy, and short-term support
- Make warm, culturally safe referrals to appropriate specialist services.
- Offer short-term bridging support until a specialist service accepts the case. Note: this is not an ongoing case-management or counselling role; clear role boundaries apply.
- Help strengthen collaboration across FV and SV services
This is a critical role in improving system coordination, access, and outcomes for multicultural communities in Ballarat and the surrounding region.
What You'll Bring
Applicants must have current Australian work authorisation at the time of application.
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, or related field
- Minimum 4 years' experience in counselling, casework, or case management
- Strong understanding of MARAM Framework and trauma-informed, feminist practice
- Experience working with women from multicultural and refugee backgrounds
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural skills
- Current WWCC, driver's licence, and Police Check
