Our Out of Home Care services offer a variety of child protection, youth justice, outreach, family intervention and family support services. We are on the lookout for suitable applicants who meet the minimum standard qualification and have relevant experience supporting others to achieve their personal goals join our team.
About the Role
The Coordinator, Out of Home Care plays a vital role in leading and supporting a team of Youth Workers to provide therapeutic care for children and young people who are subject to Child Protection Orders and are unable to live with their families.
You will ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care is delivered in line with Anglicare's values, guiding your team to create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for every young person.
This is Permanent, Full-Time position, based at our Eight Mile Plains office, with regular work required across Forest Lake, Camira, Acacia Ridge and Calamvale.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to Youth Workers, fostering a supportive and accountable team culture.
- Manage the day-to-day organisation of the residential service, including rosters, meetings and reporting.
- Oversee the development and review of Individual Child Plans (ICPs) and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Facilitate and participate in case plan meetings with the Department of Child Safety and other service providers.
- Promote and maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic living environment for children and young people.
- Support transitions for young people entering or leaving the program, ensuring emotional and practical needs are met.
- Monitor budgets, maintain accountability for petty cash, and ensure compliance with organisational policies.
- Be available to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- A sound understanding of child development, behaviour and family dynamics. .
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic in challenging situations.
- Commitment to upholding Anglicare's values of care, compassion, and respect in all interactions.
About You
You are a compassionate and motivated team leader with experience in residential or child protection services. Skilled in trauma informed and theapeutic care, you forster a positive team culture and ensure high quality support for children and young people. You are calm under pressure and you can balance operational needs with empathy and professionalism.
Credentials and Qualifications
- Current Blue Card
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Qualification in Behavioural or Social Science, or a related residential care field, with significant relevant experience
- Hope and Healing Framework Foundation Training
- Experience within a social services environment
