The Opportunity:

What You Will Need:

  • Experience within the Water / Wastewater Industry.
  • Manager or leading hand experience.
  • Minimum Cert III in Water industry Treatment OR equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience or quals in handling chemicals including Chlorine gas.
  • The willingness to be hands-on.
  • Knowledge of what it takes to keep a workplace safe.
  • The ability to organise people and materials for projects and daily jobs.
  • A sound level of computer skills.
  • Minimum C class driver licence with a preference for HR.

What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Council's Operations Manager, you will lead and supervise teams to provide a high standard of services within the Cherbourg community relating to:

  • Water & sewerage treatment plants.
  • Pump stations.
  • Reticulation plumbing.
  • Water storage infrastructure.

With Cherbourg's unique history going back to the late 1890's, the first Cherbourg Community Council was elected in 1966 before taking over local management of the Community from the State in 1986.

The Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council is the most Southern of the Aboriginal Local Government Areas in Queensland.
