Commercial Strategist (Sales Development Rep)
At Hyper, we work with ambitious people turning bold ideas into world-changing startups. As a Commercial Strategist (SDR), you'll be the first person ambitious founders speak to when they reach out to us. You'll qualify inbound leads, build quick rapport, and help them see how Hyper can turn their idea into reality.
This is a role for someone hungry for sales in the fast-paced startup world, where you'll be trained, coached, and enjoy hitting targets while having a direct impact on who we work with.
About the Role

warm inbound leads
, people who've already expressed interest, and help determine whether Hyper is the right fit for them. You'll lead structured discovery sessions, ask the right questions, and listen closely to understand each founder's goals, challenges, and readiness.
This is a commercially focused role where your ability to connect, assess, and influence will directly shape who joins the Hyper ecosystem. Success here comes from understanding what makes a great founder, understanding their future goals, spotting the signal early, and helping them see the value in our process and how we can help them achieve their vision.
What You'll Do
- Run founder discovery sessions
: Ask smart questions, deeply understand founder motivations, and explain Hyper's Accelerate process with clarity and care
- Qualify potential founders
: Use structured frameworks to assess startup potential and fit, not just on the idea, but on the founders themselves
- Spot patterns and opportunities
: Keep a close eye on performance data, lead quality, and conversion metrics to surface insights and improve how we qualify and onboard founders
- Stay close to the startup ecosystem
: Be active in startup events, newsletters, communities, and networks to stay informed and sharp
- Collaborate across teams
: Work with Product, Design, and Advisory to ensure smooth handovers once founders enter the Accelerate phase
- Track and report on funnel health
: Maintain clean, accurate records in our CRM, and help refine our qualification and conversion processes over time
What You'll Get
- Base Salary:
Competitive base salary + uncapped monthly performance commission (OTE $150k+ (top performers exceed this regularly)

Stake in Hyper's venture fund

Edgecliff (2 mins from beautiful Rushcutters Bay for a morning coffee and stroll with the team)
