About the position

As a Portfolio Associate at Qualitas, you'll play a key role in driving portfolio performance through advanced financial modelling, detailed analysis, and insightful reporting. Working closely with the Investment, Risk, Finance, Capital, and Operations teams, you'll provide data-driven recommendations to optimise returns and ensure the highest standards of portfolio management.

Key responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Analysis

  • Build, maintain, and enhance portfolio financial models and performance measurement tools.
  • Update financial models with historical results and forecasts from internal stakeholders.
  • Provide internal and external stakeholders with detailed analyses, including performance and return forecasts, liquidity projections, credit facility requirements, and distribution analyses.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare regular reports on fund performance, portfolio composition, and capital positions for internal and investor audiences.
  • Contribute to weekly internal dashboard updates, monthly investor reports and quarterly investor communications
  • Draft fund statistics, board reports, and internal presentations.
  • Support capital raising initiatives and investor due diligence by coordinating relevant data and materials.

Portfolio Evaluation & Administration

  • Conduct ongoing portfolio performance analysis, including profitability, leverage, and composition reviews.
  • Prepare investment allocation analyses and recommendation papers.
  • Coordinate capital calls and distribution payments through external fund administrators.

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide guidance and coaching to Portfolio Analysts, supporting their professional development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytical outputs.

What you'll bring to the role

  • 5–7 years' experience in portfolio or investment analysis (real assets or private credit preferred)
  • Strong financial modelling and quantitative skills — advanced
    Excel
    is a must
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
  • CFA, CA, or CPA credentials highly regarded
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning
