Role Overview
The Senior Data Engineer plays a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and integrations to support Flinders Port Holdings enterprise data platform. This role exists to ensure the successful delivery of our multi-million dollar transformation project and broader data initiatives, enabling Flinders Port Holdings transition to a data-driven business.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data integration pipelines into Snowflake using Azure Data Factory and related technologies;
• Build and optimise data models (normalised and de-normalised) to support enterprise analytics and reporting;
• Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and security across the data platform;
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence Analysts and business stakeholders to enable high-quality reporting and self-service analytics in Power BI;
• Evaluate, prototype, and implement modern data engineering practices, including automation, orchestration, and monitoring; and
• Contribute to the design and evolution of Flinders Port Holdings enterprise data architecture, ensuring alignment with business requirements.

About You
Your skills and experience will include:

• Valid driver's licence;
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline;
• Industry certifications in cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or Snowflake);
• Experience designing and optimising relational and dimensional schemas for analytics;
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation, pipeline automation, and working with large, complex datasets; and
• Knowledge of Power BI and ability to enable/report integration between data models and visualisation tools.
