The Opportunity
Are you someone who thrives both independently and as part of a close-knit team? Do you enjoy being active and out in the community, while also bringing structure and precision to your office work?
We're looking for a highly organised and adaptable individual who enjoys planning their day with precision but can pivot when circumstances change. This role suits someone who is comfortable navigating the streets of Perth and using public transport to conduct inspections, while also being methodical in managing documentation, compliance data, and correspondence.
As a Parking Compliance Officer, you'll be part of a small, high-performing team responsible for ensuring parking in central Perth aligns with legislative obligations, policies, and planning approvals. You'll carry out inspections, provide education, and advise on appropriate penalties or infringements where non-compliance is identified. Your ability to communicate confidently and professionally, especially when dealing with challenging situations, will be key to your success.
Based at our centrally located office at 140 William Street, Perth, you'll contribute to a safe, accessible, and well-managed transport system that supports our thriving community.
There is currently one 12-month fixed term position available with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 24 months date of first appointment across the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure.
About you
- You communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of people to build understanding and positive relationships.
- You manage your time effectively, working independently to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- You interpret and apply information accurately when reviewing documents or making recommendations.
- You collaborate well in a small team environment, contributing to shared goals and supporting others.
- You look for ways to improve processes, solve problems, and embrace new tools or technologies.
As part of our team, you will enjoy
- Access to flexible working arrangements including working from home or alternate work location for enhanced work life balance.
- The ability to accrue flexi-time on top of 4 weeks' annual leave, 3 additional public service holidays yearly and long service leave every 7 years.
- A competitive salary, and 12% employer contributed superannuation and salary sacrifice options.
- Support from your manager and team.
- Work for an innovative Government agency with limitless long-term career prospects.
- Bright, modern facility close to transport links.
