We are seeking an experienced Coordinator (Track Renewals) for an opportunity in Port Hedland working for a major Tier 1 miner on an 11:10 roster working 12 hours per shift.
Overview
Within the Rail Network Maintenance department, the Track Renewals team is responsible for executing large-scale Capital Projects and Maintenance expenditure including Re Rail, Track Renewal, turnout and cross over renewal, level crossing renewal, rail stress management, undercutting and rail civil works.
Within this team, the Shut Coordinators are responsible for assisting the Shut Lead with planning and coordinating the execution of track works that incorporate the larger track renewal scope. This includes scoping, site preparation and execution. The work centres on the delivery of track materials and site set up, pre shut planning, heavy involvement in executing shut works, post shut clean up and demobilization work banks.
Duties
Supervise and manage the safe execution of all aspects of track renewals activities.
Develop methodologies to improve safety and efficiency, and to reduce cost.
Develop and sustain a strong safety and collaborative culture in the track renewals.

Coordination of track works to ensure the safe execution of scope, creating efficiencies to improve methodologies, on schedule, within budget and with a focus on best practice.
Pathway into Shut Lead roll
Qualifications:
- Current full West Australian "C" class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor
- vehicle license.
- Leadership experience in track supervision.
- Maintain & operate 4WD
- Certificate III in rail Infrastructure and additional electives
- First Aid Cert
Pre-requisite Supervisor accreditation for Responsible Person:
o RIICOM301D - Communicate Information,
o RIIRIS301D - Apply Risk Management Processes,
o BSBMGT401A - Show Leadership in the Workplace, and
o RIIBEF402D - Supervise Onsite Operations.
- Police clearance
Skills:
- Highly experienced in track renewals works including plain line, turnouts and cross overs, level crossings, rerail and stress management, deliveries, material identification and stock piling/site set out.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and people management skills with a range of audiences.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, 1SAP and planning systems.
- Good planning skills and the ability to oversee projects to successful completion.
- Administration and prioritisation including time management capability.
- Competent in reading detailed plans and elevations.
- Sound judgement including balancing competing issues.
- Ability to identify and prevent risks.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in leading workgroups and contractors to complete track works.
- Risk management in rail construction and maintenance works
- Sound knowledge of Railroad Operating Rules and industry standards (safety and quality).

o Re Rail and Stress Management
o Track Construction (plain line, cross overs) and associated activities
- Civil, FB welding, Survey, Ballasting and Resurfacing, Undercutting
o Construction of turnouts (1:10RBM, 1:15 - 1:20 SNX - 1:20 R1000)
o Level crossing construction (STRAIL and JD types)
