The City of Karratha is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Work Health & Safety Support Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract through to March 2026.
About the role
As part of a passionate and professional team, you'll help coordinate and deliver the City's WHS programs, systems, and reporting. From injury management and training coordination to auditing and wellness initiatives, no two days will be the same.
You'll work closely with our WHS team, leaders, and employees across the organisation to support a culture of safety, wellbeing, and productivity across all areas of the organisation.
What you will be doing
- Support WHS Officers with audits, inspections, and emergency preparedness and response programs
- Assist with the management of safety systems like ChemAlert and myOSH
- Track and report on incidents, risks, and return-to-work programs
- Coordinate health and wellbeing assessments and initiatives
- Maintain accurate and confidential WHS records and documentation
- Help deliver inductions, training, and WHS Committee activities
- Provide admin support and help foster a proactive safety culture
What you will bring
- Working towards a tertiary qualification in Health & Safety (desirable)
- Previous experience in WHS, Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current C Class drivers' licence
- National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
