The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly driven Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our established Sydney Geotechnical Engineering team (approx. 45 people). You'll be involved in investigations, analysis and construction support, working alongside experienced engineers and scientists in a genuinely supportive, collaborative environment. Expect a mix of field, lab and office work with some travel to regional NSW sites when project requires.

Key Responsibilities


• Undertake fieldwork: test pits, borehole supervision, soil/rock logging (to AS 1726), sampling and on-site coordination.


• Supervise/coordinate drilling and contribute to safe, efficient site operations


• Direct sampling and in-situ and laboratory testing, to ensure successful project outcomes.


• Assist with geotechnical analyses and practical inputs for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, pavements and earthworks.


• Prepare factual logs, figures and draft report sections; participate in quality reviews to ensure high technical standards.


• Communicate clearly with internal teams and clients, turning data into practical, commercial recommendations.

You will get exposure from conception to construction—not just desktop work—mirroring how leading geotechnical teams develop well-rounded engineers.

About You


• Tertiary qualification in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.


• Driver's licence and appetite for fieldwork (metro and occasional regional NSW).


• Clear written and verbal communication; strong time-management and organisation.


• Solid Microsoft Office skills; willingness to learn industry software and data systems.


• Familiarity with Australian Standards (e.g., AS 1726) and a practical, safety-first mindset.
