About the Role:
Provide a hands-on approach to the overall setup, execution and operations of the overall department. Accountable for controlling expenses and profitability of the department whist consistently focusing on retaining and exceeding guest's expectations.

Improve rapport with existing clients and assist in creating new function business.  Ensure excellence in all aspects of banquet service and operation in meeting with all internal and external guests needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the smooth and efficient delivery of all Conferences & Events, ensuring every detail matches client expectations and BEO requirements.
• Oversee set-up, food presentation, cleanliness, and equipment hire to the highest standards.
• Manage inventory, stock ordering, rostering, billing, and departmental upkeep with accuracy and efficiency.
• Drive team training, development, and succession planning, creating a positive and engaging work environment.
• Establish, implement, and uphold SOPs and service standards across the department.

Partner with the C&E Operations Manager to supervise the team and maximise service, sales, and profitability.
- Handle client interactions with professionalism, ensuring satisfaction, repeat business, and swift resolution of any concerns.
- Support weekly stocktakes and maintain strong financial controls, particularly within the beverage department.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to make best use of resources and deliver seamless guest experiences.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in managing or supervising Meetings, Events, or Banquets within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with a passion for developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
• Sound financial acumen, with experience in rostering, billing, stock control, and cost management.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client and team relationships.
• Commitment to upholding service excellence and driving continuous improvement.
