About the role
As we enter an exciting period of expansion at K92, we are seeking to add a Head of Asset Management to our senior leadership team in PNG. As we continuously improve standards across the business to meet the evolving needs of the operation and our people, this role demands an individual who seeks to develop best in class systems and teams, influence and mentor across all levels at site and will grow with the site as new challenges emerge.
The successful applicant for this role will have significant mining experience, ideally some exposure to senior maintenance roles within developing nations and excellent communication skills as you drive standards across our Asset Management department.
Key / Major Accountabilities
- Ensure delivery of all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual targets and KPIs associated with plant, equipment, and infrastructure operability / serviceability.
- Develop and oversee delivery of short term (0 - 3month) plant, equipment and infrastructure maintenance schedules which ensure safe and reliable use of the assets.
- Development of medium- and long-term plans including major maintenance of assets, development of technological improvements and major capital improvement / replacement projects.
- Oversee delivery of CAPEX works.
- Lead a continuous review of infrastructure, plant and equipment maintenance processes, procedures, and strategies to ensure excellence in outcomes and asset utilisation / optimisation.
- Conduct or oversee investigations related to equipment performance issues
- Development and management of the annual operational and capital expenditure budget, including variance management with a cost improvement focus.
- Identify, develop, and deliver strategies and tactics to optimise commercial outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, company and personal HSE systems.
- Coach & mentor leaders and employees through visible HSE leadership.
- Actively promote a safety first, zero harm culture.
- Identify, select, develop, and retain leadership capability through formal feedback, career development, coaching and mentoring with a long-term view to nationalisation where possible.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent
- Previous experience operating in developing countries in remote locations will be highly regarded.
- Significant experience in maintenance management including planning and scheduling, asset and contracts management, and reliability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage teams and to timeframes
- Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training
