About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join the Maintenance team.  You will be responsible for ensuring the plant is kept running by maintaining, repairing and inspecting all electrical and electronic equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure plant and equipment is maintained to ensure equipment runs at budgeted level of machine uptime, budgeted speeds and meets all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that maintenance and electrical duties are carried out to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained in satisfactory working order.
  • Work orders and PM's are carried out within the set time frames.
  • Attend and repair breakdowns within the set time frames.
  • Escalate problems that are creating excess downtime.
  • Re-design and modify plant and machinery to maximize production outputs.
  • Ensure that all safety requirements are met when working with machinery and/or chemicals.
  • Ensure that Hazardous area requirements are met including installations, PM's and dossier.
  • Ensure that detailed information is entered into MEX including detailed history and downtime .
  • Take part in analysis of maintenance/electrical and breakdown history to ensure the PM schedule is aligned to breakdown history.

In areas of accountability where performance objectives are not being met, ensure:

  • You have a full awareness of the issue affecting performance.
  • Conduct the required (RCA) level of analysis to understand the issues.
  • Develop, recommend and/or implement corrective actions or strategies to address performance issues.

Skills & Experience

The applicant should have:

  • Minimum 5yrs Industrial electrical experience
  • Completed Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances course (Highly regarded)
  • Participated in Certificate IV for Hazardous Areas (Highly regarded)
  • Elevated Platform Licence (Boom Lift Licence)
  • Desktop drawing experience desirable not essential
  • Previous experience in the printing industry (preferred)
  • 12 hr rotating shift work
