About the role:

The Senior Project Officer sits within the Digital Resources team and contributes to the work of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program area, including contributing to the creation of a new suite of evidence-based and family-friendly digital resources to better support Victorian families and underpin the Victorian MCH Service.

The role will contribute to:

  • The review, revision and transition of MCH printed resources into digital formats, including the creation within tight timeframes of a digital version of the My Health, Learning and Development "Green" Book provided to every new Victorian baby as a personal health record
  • Ensuring that digital resources and content remain fit-for-purpose for use by the clinical MCH workforce and Victorian parents, carers and families
  • Creating and managing a central repository of approved MCH and parenting digital resources, and ensuring strategic alignment with existing national and Victorian parenting websites with evidence-based resources.
  • Contributing to high priority interdepartmental initiatives to improve access to effective and user friendly digital tools and information to better support Victorian families in the early years.

The role requires attention to detail, strong project management and communication skills, and the ability to work within a team to achieve outcomes to quick deadlines.

About your accountabilities:

  • Contributes to high priority and complex projects within the Maternal and Child Health and Early Parenting Unit, including projects involving the review and reform of evidence-based resources for families and MCH services.
  • Utilises best-practice project management techniques, including in relation to project reporting, stakeholder engagement, and risks and issues management.
  • Gathers and consolidates expert and authoritative advice and input into the revision and development of user-friendly parent-facing resources.
  • Develops briefs on complex issues that provide options for decision within an organisation.
  • Negotiates with peers (internal and external to work unit) to gain commitment to projects, and delivery of activities to meet timelines.
  • Represents own work area with external stakeholders, and effectively manages feedback.
  • Keeps accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
