Senior Project Manager - Cyber Security | Melbourne | Hybrid (2 days in office)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a leading organisation's Project Delivery team in Melbourne. In this role, you'll take ownership of delivering high-impact cyber security initiatives, including Identity & Access uplift and Secure Software Development. Working closely with the Security Program Manager, you'll lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams and play a critical role in driving delivery across complex technology environments.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the opportunity to make a tangible difference in an organisation investing heavily in its cyber security and technology transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end project delivery across cyber initiatives, ensuring scope, milestones, and benefits are achieved.
- Monitor and manage project timelines, critical paths, dependencies, risks, and issues.
- Build and lead high-performing project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Drive change management and communication to ensure successful adoption across multiple geographies.
- Manage relationships with executive stakeholders, business owners, and third-party vendors.
- Establish and maintain governance structures, reporting rhythms, and decision-making frameworks.
- Promote continuous improvement within project delivery through retrospectives and shared learnings.
About You
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering large-scale technology or cyber security projects.
- Skilled at leading dispersed teams across Asia Pacific, with the ability to guide BAU resources through delivery.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile experience highly regarded).
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing vendor and third-party relationships.
- Adaptable, hands-on, and able to drive outcomes in complex environments.
- Formal project management qualifications and/or tertiary education advantageous.
