Pharmacogenomics Pharmacist, Children's Cancer Centre

About The Role
This is a part time, fixed term position at 0.8FTE (60.8 hours) per fortnight within the Children's Cancer Centre for two years from the commencement date.
The oncology pharmacogenomics (PGx) pharmacist will be responsible for the implementation of pharmacogenomics into clinical practice within the Children's Cancer Centre. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures surrounding PGx. They will provide clinical advice to Children's Cancer Centre patients, families and staff as well as facilitate PGx testing, reporting and prescribing.
Classification for this position will range from Pharmacist Grade 3 Year 1, to Grade 3 Year 4.
What You'll Achieve
- Create and maintain clinical guidelines and policies and procedures surrounding PGx testing at The Royal Children's Hospital
- Collect data, maintain databases and prepare reports at reasonable intervals to demonstrate the utility of PGx within the Children's Cancer Centre
- Establish professional relationships with patients, families and multi-disciplinary teams to successfully integrate PGx into clinical practice, with a focus on patient safety
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss and authorise PGx reports
- Provide high quality clinical advice to Children's Cancer Centre patients, families and staff regarding individual PGx results and PGx more broadly
Your Skills And Experience
- Bachelor of Pharmacy, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in paediatric and/or oncology pharmacy
- Demonstrated experience in the field of pharmacogenomics

About The Department
The Children's Cancer Centre (CCC) is the state wide provide of complex cancer care including Bone Marrow Transplant and CAR-T therapies. The CCC has a large multidisciplinary team that provides family-centred care for children and young adults with cancer and other haematological malignancies.
