Senior Planner / Scheduler Consultant
to join our
Sydney Hub.

About the Project

Join the development phase of a large Rail project, supporting Delivery Partners in an integration-focused, client-side scheduling role essential for controlling and validating downstream supplier planning.

As an MP Consultant, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work across diverse sectors to manage diverse projects and support programs of work.
  • Deliver within complex client engagements and aid MP team leadership with client relationship management
  • Support the engagement lead to build our footprint within a client or multiple clients, while taking advantage of a diverse range of professional development opportunities
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and successful delivery of key client initiatives.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, validate, and manage detailed schedules for stations, tunnels (including TBM-related works), enabling works, and infrastructure elements.
  • Build and maintain WBS, define activity durations, sequencing, and constraints integrating multi-disciplinary inputs.
  • Conduct quality control on supplier schedules—check constructability and align with contractual/regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate planning sessions and integrate schedules using IMS and CPM principles.
  • Monitor schedule performance using EVM, SPI, and perform delay/forensic analysis.
  • Identify risks and contribute recovery or mitigation plans.
  • Visualize and communicate schedule status via dashboards, forecasts, and stakeholder reporting.

WHO ARE YOU?

  • You are someone who has at least a Bachelor's degree in a engineering field of study; Master's degrees are advantageous.
  • You have 8-12 years of experience in managing complex project & program schedules across different industries.
  • Proven experience as a Planner/Scheduler in
    rail transportation and infrastructure projects
    , preferably client-side.
  • Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure scheduling—stations, tunnelling, TBMs, line-wide integration—with development phase emphasis.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, CPM methods, EVM, SPI, and report/dashboard creation.
  • Integration-focused, strong communicator, with multi-stakeholder coordination strengths.
  • Exposure to Australian processes is a plus; international backgrounds are welcome.

You must possess strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills to successfully execute and deliver projects that contribute to the organization's growth and competitiveness. Analytical skills are your strong suit and you have a rigorous attention to detail. You are an excellent communicator, adjusting communication styles based on your audience. You are a quick learner, adaptable and can thrive in new environments. You have experience working within large and complex organizations. You are proactive, confident, and engaging; especially when it comes to executive leadership and large stakeholder groups.
