Job Description:

We're looking for a Senior Merchandise Planner to drive sales and profitability through smart inventory planning, forecasting, and merchandise strategy. You'll not only manage day-to-day planning but also shape the function by building a strong team, creating reporting frameworks, and introducing scalable processes. You'll play a key role in new store openings, ensuring the right stock and assortments are in place for success.

We want someone who's analytical, commercially savvy, and confident influencing stakeholders. If you can mentor junior planners while delivering strong sales and margin results, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage merchandise financial plans, forecasts, and inventory strategies to achieve sales and margin goals

  • Lead day-to-day merchandise planning activities, ensuring optimal stock levels and product availability

  • Analyse sales, inventory, and market trends to inform buying and assortment strategies

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Buying, Marketing, Operations) to drive commercial outcomes

  • Support new store openings by planning stock levels, assortments, and launch allocations

  • Build and mentor a high-performing planning team, providing guidance and development opportunities

  • Design and implement reporting frameworks, tools, and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making

  • Establish scalable planning processes and ways of working to support business growth

  • Influence senior stakeholders with clear insights and recommendations to maximise profitability

The ideal candidates will have:

  • 5 years' experience in merchandise planning, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role

  • Proven track record in shaping or evolving merchandise planning functions, including process design, reporting, and team development

  • Hands-on experience supporting or leading new store or market launches from a planning perspective

  • Strong knowledge of retail KPIs, merchandising financials and OTB management

  • Advanced Excel proficiency with experience using planning systems such as SAP or similar

  • Skilled in generating and interpreting reports across multiple systems

  • Strong commercial mindset with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Confident influencing senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional initiatives

  • Excellent organisational, project management, and communication skills

  • Background in the beauty industry is highly regarded
